Every lesson, in teaching order.
The full lesson list is open to everyone: every lesson is listed with its description, so you can see exactly what the library teaches before you join. Warrant Prep and Search & Seizure are built for all 50 states, with national lessons on the federal law and a State Law Companion module for each state’s own law. The other three serve investigators in both sectors.
Where to start
Warrants and searches in your state, and the interviews and reports the case rests on.
Workplace and campus investigations, from the first interview to a finding that holds up.
Interviews, reports, and credibility calls, plus where your authority ends.
All five curricula
Warrant Prep
Affidavits that survive the suppression hearing
Search warrant practice from the first fact to the return, for affiants in all 50 states, built on The Affiant's Standard: Precision Search Warrant Writing. Seventy national lessons in eight modules teach the discipline that holds up in every courtroom: foundations, the court and the governing warrant procedure, developing probable cause, drafting the affidavit, suppression doctrine and case studies, execution, specialized and digital warrants, and the affiant over a career. Each state's own statutes, court rules, and controlling decisions are taught in that state's own State Law Companion module, paired lesson by lesson with the national core.
Search & Seizure
The doctrine every stop, search, and seizure has to satisfy
Whether a proposed investigative action is permitted, decided before you act, in any state: identify your authority, evaluate the facts, choose a legally supported action, and document the decision. Forty-eight lessons in eight modules build the federal foundation that applies everywhere, from your role and the governing law through encounters, consent, vehicles, technology, and suppression. Twelve scenarios then apply it, six in public sector decisions and six across sectors, including workplace, retail, and private investigations. Each state's own rules, including where it goes further than the federal floor, are taught in that state's own State Law Companion module. Course access supplies no investigative authority.
Interview Prep
Walk in with a plan for this person, this situation
Investigative interviewing built on Teach to Talk® and the Adaptive Strategies Compass™, for public and private sector investigators. Sixty lessons in twelve modules follow the interview from its purpose and planning through rapport, the initial account, questioning and listening, memory and the Cognitive Interview, Barrier Mapping and reluctance, sensitive interviews, Strategic Use of Evidence, and interviewing the person under investigation, to closing, follow-up, and reviewing your own interview. Follow the sequence to build the skill, or pick the lesson for the interview in front of you.
Report Prep
Write it so it survives the reader who was not there
Investigative report writing for police, HR, Title IX, insurance, corporate, and private investigators. Sixty lessons in ten modules move from purpose and responsibility through notes, structure, precise and neutral writing, documenting interviews, evidence and exhibits, analysis and findings, difficult reporting situations, and review, then close with six writing workshops, including a public sector report and a corporate or private investigation report. Follow the sequence, or pick the lesson for the report you are writing.
Credibility Assessment
Evaluating accounts, not detecting lies
Evidence-based assessment of accounts, not lie detection, for public and private sector investigators. Sixty lessons in ten modules cover purpose and boundaries, perception and memory, contamination, examining the account, corroboration and evidence quality, context without assumptions, testing accounts fairly, competing explanations and your own bias, and findings and documentation, then close with six assessment workshops in public, corporate, and private settings.
